NEW MONSTER ZERO BAND: SUGUS (ES)!
It took awhile but finally we can report with pride: Sugus from Madrid will release their new record 'Ciclostes' on Monster Zero. These Spanish punkrock legends have been around for some years and their 'Learn To Be A Mornard' record is an absolute classic. The record will be out on vinyl in May, and Bell On Records from Japan will release the record on CD. Expect Sugus on tour this fall in Europe!
THE BACKBREAKER BITES!
In a fair world, The Bat Bites would be rich and famous. But in this dimension, they're not. Merel dropped out of school, Mikey is waiting tables, Florian broke up with Kevin Aper and Scott is driving a bus full of old people through Europe. Unfortunately Scott has to do this at the end of March too, so he can't plat at the Crossbone Festival. Luckily the Bat Bites are good friends with the excentric punkrock millionair Ivo Backbreaker. He's willing to fill in for Scott! So expect the Bat Bites live on two occasions with Europe's best poppunk drummer!
PRICEDUIFKES 'R GO!
Ricky D, Mambo and VS are spreading the word on their latest hitrecord 'Can't Lose'. Shows all over Belgium, Holland, Germany and Scandinavia, an upcoming tour with Direct Hit and the vinyl version of the record will be out soon. On the 16th of March they will be accompanied by 100 punkrockers in two touring cars to their show in Eindhoven. But they're still looking for a show somewhere in Holland or Germany on April 1st, so if you can help, get in touch with Goomba.
SPLIT THE ATOM WITH THE MANGES!
There's no stopping the Manges from rockin'! The Italian punkrock veterans are busier than ever. Besides a new 7” on Monster Zero (soon!) and the re-release of their 2001 record 'The Manges 'R Good Enough', the boys will release not 1, not 2 but 3 split 7”es this year. The vinyl space will be shared with Fast Food (ES), Head (USA) and The Apers (NL). And if all that wasn't enough, word is on the street of a Manges / Apers Japan tour in late 2012.
IT REALLY DEECRACKS ME UP!
Mike DeeCrackus is a busy man. School, work, life in general. But his band comes first place. The Austrians have reunited with old bassplayer Manu and are recording new stuff as we speak. In April they will release two splits, one with 7 Years Bad Luck (AT) and one with labelbuddies The Murderburgers. DeeCrascks also joined forces with Panther Booking and Otis Tours for some touring action all over Europe. In a shitty venue near you sometime this year. Punkrawk!
THE BRIGHTON BREAKOUT!
Monster Zero recording artists The Hotlines, who have just released a magnificent 10”, are planning a crazy party called the Brighton Breakout. They've done it before and will do it again. On June 22nd and 23rd, the city of Brighton will be host to great bands like Sugus, The Priceduifkes, Maladroit, The Bat Bites, Accelerators and more! Did someone say British Monster Zero Mash? And in case you don't know who the Hotlines are, buy their record and go see them in Holland and Belgium later this month.
BUBBLEGUM DREAMS!
Goomba don't say Italians are lazy or slow. But when Teenage Bubblegums joined Monster Zero, Goomba did tell them not to fuck around. Good news, they didn't! A new website, cool new merchandise and a shitload of shows coming up. Bubblegums did good, now you do the same and get their latest record 'Learn From Yesterday, Live For Today, Pray For Tomorrow' on either LP, CD or both.
NEW 20 BELOWS RECORD!
Amazing how good news can make you sad. The 20 Belows from Denmark have recorded a new record, which is great! But it won't be out on Monster Zero, and that's sad. Anyway, it should a be a killer record and the amigos from Kopenhagen will tour hard and heavy through Europe to support the record. Go see them and request 'Shiny Little Hearts'!
PIZZA MAFIA WINDOWSILL
They said they wasn't but now they're gonna! Windowsill is hitting the road. First they'll hit a plane from the Netherlands to Italy and there they will perform a few shows. So if you live in the land south of Austria, make sure to catch them. A few shows are confirmed and you can find them in the shows section of this newsletter.
NEW MURDERBURGERS ALMOST READY!
True story! The new record from our Scottish boyfriends is almost ready! Recordings are done, mixing etc done done done. Fraser will bring it to the pressing plant on his little pink bike, and it will rain cotton candy and lollypops. More news soon.
